I purchased this grip for a wedding video shoot I had coming up since I knew I would be on the move a lot. I mounted a Canon T2i on it, and it worked pretty well.
The design is made out of pretty sturdy plastic. You can kind of tell that the mounting plate has been glued on, and it doesn't look terribly sturdy, but it managed to hold my T2i well for an entire day of shooting.
The fold out legs works well as a table tripod that you could use for a camera being used as a webcam, or something similar to that.
The grip will make your hands smell like rubber. I've used it on a few occasions now, and my hands still smell after I'm done. It's not a bad smell, per say, but it's there.
I wouldn't recommend using this for anything heavier than a DSLR. A DSLR is very close to being too heavy for this grip to support. I was using a small 18-55 lens, and I feel if you used any larger lens than that, it wouldn't work well at all, and you would be at risk breaking the mounting plate off. But for something like a point and shoot or a small camcorder, it will work great.
