I am able to confirm that it is multi-coated by placing the filter on top of a white piece of paper with a strong light source from above tilted at around 45 degree angle, you will then notice a slight pinkish hue. My canon UV filter does not have any hue when I tested it although Canon's UV filter never claimed it was multi-coated. At this price, it is surely worth getting. I see no degradation of picture quality and flare although still present at certain angles is unavoidable due to the characteristics of a 72mm lens which is huge. The bigger the lens, the more light bounces around. It is made in China but who cares. It's not mechanical so unless you drop the filter, there are no worries of it ever breaking down.
